Anonymised Case Studies:
Case study (1) A
A came to Crystal Care Solutions Ltd after committing a ‘Schedule 1’ offence against a child.
When placed in residential and secure provisions in the placing authorities home area, A exhibited extremely negative behaviour and committed numerous assaults on staff and criminal damage to property.
Following his placement with CCS our staff team worked very closely with specialist therapeutic services and, over an eighteen month period, addressed A’s aggressive behaviour and implemented strategies which addressed A’s sexualised behaviours. This enabled A to recognise and manage his own level of risk.
CCS continued to work together with specialist therapeutic input in order to risk manage disclosures which then allowed A to enrol on a college courses of his choosing.
This allowed A to achieve an accredited award and gain access to higher education post eighteen. Alongside this CCS staff provided A with a comprehensive independence programme which enabled A to learn essential skills for independent living. A now lives independently within the community and receives a minimal ongoing support package from CCS.
Case Study (2) B
B came to CCS age 12 following family breakdown and displaying extremely challenging behaviours within the family home.
Over a period of twelve months CCS worked closely with his specialist education provision, YOS, Police Community Unit and his placing authority to stabilise his behaviour.
During this time CCS compiled evidence on behalf of the placing authority, which was then used in care proceedings.
Due to B’s very specialist needs, the positive relationships he had formed and the stability of his behaviours when placed with us it was decided by the placing authority that he would remain with us ‘long term’.
B continues to do well, is flourishing at school and is enjoying the extracurricular activities offered by CCS.
Case Study (3) C
C came to us in his early teens following a high profile court case within which he was the perpetrator of serious offences against younger children.
CCS worked closely with specialist therapeutic providers to address this behaviour and the ongoing risks he posed to children.
CCS, Police and the placing authority risk managed his placement and ensured the safety of C himself as the perpetrator of serious crimes, the general public and of our staff team.
Over a number of years the multidisciplinary team around C brought him to a point where he was able to reintegrate into his local community and obtain employment.
Due to the independent living and budgeting skills he acquired whilst with CCS he was able to move into independent living.
At this stage CCS successfully facilitated the transition to local authority support and withdrew.
C continues to do well and live independently in the community.
