ESG POLICY

IINTRODUCTION

At Crystal Care Solutions, we recognise our responsibility to act as a positive force within the community and to lead by example in our approach to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors.

We are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and sustainable environment for all children and young people, employees, and stakeholders.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

We are dedicated to continually reducing our environmental impact by:

ENERGY CONSUMPTION

Sourcing our energy from renewable tariffs wherever possible, ensuring our energy use is sustainable and contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Transport:

Operating a fleet which increasingly incorporates hybrid vehicles, lowering our carbon footprint and reducing air pollution from our business activities.

Waste Management:

Actively promoting recycling within our homes and offices, including segregated waste bins and educational signage to encourage responsible disposal and a reduction in landfill waste.

Resource Use:

Encouraging the efficient use of resources, such as water and consumables, and favouring suppliers who demonstrate strong environmental credentials.

SOCIAL COMMITMENT:

In our role as a residential home for children and young people, our social commitment includes:

Child Welfare and Inclusivity:

Upholding the highest standards of safeguarding, dignity, and care for all children and young people entrusted to us.

Promoting inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunities for all residents and staff, regardless of background, ethnicity, sex, age, or disability.

EMPLOYEE WELFARE:

Providing a safe and supportive work environment, including regular training, health and safety measures, and clear policies on whistleblowing, grievance, and wellbeing.

Offering professional development opportunities to enable staff to deliver outstanding care and progress within their careers.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:

Building strong relationships with local agencies, neighbours, schools, and health services to contribute positively to the wider community.

Governance Commitment

Ethical Conduct:

Conducting our affairs with honesty, integrity, and transparency at all levels, in compliance with relevant UK laws and sector regulations (including Ofsted requirements and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015).

DECISION MAKING:

Embedding ESG considerations into executive decisions, risk management processes, and strategic planning.

Monitoring and Reporting:

Regularly reviewing our policies, procedures and ESG performance, and setting measurable objectives for continual improvement.

Reporting progress to stakeholders, including children (in age-appropriate formats), staff, commissioners and regulators.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

We are committed to driving progress on ESG matters by:

• Periodically reviewing this policy and related actions to reflect changes in legislation, regulations, and best practice.

• Seeking feedback from stakeholders and engaging staff and residents in developing sustainability and social initiatives.

• Setting annual targets to increase our ESG score and using recognised standards, frameworks or audit tools to monitor improvement.

APPROVAL AND REVIEW

This ESG Policy is approved by the Leadership Team of Crystal Care Solutions and will be reviewed annually, or sooner if required by changes in legislation or our operating environment
